You will be met at the designated Metro Station “Chawri Bazar”, where you will start exploring the galis of Shahjahanabad, the capital city built by Emperor Shah Jahan (1628-1658) and from where PT. JAWAHARLAL NEHRU, the first Prime Minister of Independent India got married. Our discoveries while wandering the streets inspires you to feel hungrier that we call flavour of Delhi. You will take a walk through a local bazaar of Old Delhi, experiencing the variety of food and visiting one of the best well maintained last standing Haveli old-style 3-storied home( Old Private Mansion) with a central courtyard flanked by rooms with 58 doors.

Old Delhi Bazaar has colorful and interesting street food and is crowned with the oldest shops with many world originated delicacies. The best of the best chat can be enjoyed here offering Chat Papri, Laccha Tokri, Guliya, Desi Ghee Tikki, Moong Pakori,Kulche Chole, Dahi Bhalla, Bedwee Aloo and Kachori Alu are just lip smacking. Apart from that, you can also have Samudra Kee Chat, Brown & White fresh milk cake, Kulfi, Ice creams, Hot Kadai Milk, Halwa, Nagori etc. You can choose to taste some of it if you wish. The area is also home to several small temples, shrines, old mosques and protected monument sights. Cows wander the streets, small dharamshalas (rest-houses) and pyaus (water-stations) attest to the pious contributions of local merchants.

After the walk, we will take you to a Hindu home – Masterji Kee Haveli ( Old Private Mansion) in Old Delhi, for a demonstration and tasting of traditional home-style Indian vegetarian cooking.

Masterji Kee Haveli is a fine edifice that has been built on the lines of traditional Mughal architecture. Any onlooker is sure to be impressed with the carved stone pillars where a complimentary delicious traditional meal will be served in bronze utensils. You can choose to participate in the cooking, or merely watch and learn. Please note this is not a cooking lesson; it is a chance to visit a home and get a glimpse of daily life.

The haveli has a beautiful terrace from where, during the clear day there is a spectacular 360 degrees view of Old Delhi and its higgledy-piggledy chaos which includes, view of Jama Masjid, Chawri Bazar Metro Station, New Delhi Railway Station, Airport Metro Station, Jeevan Bharti Building – Connaught Place, Parikrama revolving restaurant, Gopal Das Building, MCD Civic Centre ( The tallest building in Delhi) etc.

The family is Hindu vegetarian; are old time residents of Shahjahanabad; and this is one of the few homes that hasn’t been broken down or divided into pieces and sold to multiple people. It is a chance to visit a traditional home and see what life is really like in this narrow crowded part of Old Delhi, where adjacent houses share a common wall and everyone knows everyone else!

Our passion is simple: to share with our guests the flavours of an Incredible India, we treasure and love… “Atithi Devo Bhavah”
